I feel like “the shield hero” as a concept had so much potential. The character could infuse anything into his shield to both defend and attack. But we only this for two episodes until it’s forgotten like the first super Mario movie
one of my pet peeves with Shield Hero, and with 90% of all medieval fantasy animes, is that the writers/world-builders do absolutely fuck-all research into medieval fantasy. When the main character's weapon is a shield and he says "how am i suppose to fight with a shield?" all the viewers already come to the obvious conclusion to just bash people in the head it like they do in European history. But instead, he is really just a mage with extra step.
