Maybe Spike got KIAd, or maybe he's just old. regardless, It's his own universe, just like G1, Aligned Continuity, Animated, Unicron Trilogy, Bayverse, etc. Are all Transformers media, but different. Like how in G1 and TFOne Orion Pax became Optimus after Megatron killed him, while in the Aligned Continuity and Earthspark had him just given the Matrix for seemingly no reason other than he was just worthy.
