I love the writing a great deal and I also appreciate the art similarly, the ambiguous nature of exactly what Straxus there is guilty of and how he actually felt compile well with a main character that has effectively developed hard paranoia for some legitimate reasons and some very unfortunate leaps of logic.
Not quite bestie. Coppers, because of their use of violence to enforce laws created by the current administration of the country, uphold the ruling class' power and perceived legitimacy. Whether all cops are bastards therefore depends on the political and economic systems of the country they work in. In a capitalist countries the police exists as an internal army of the capitalist class, often used to break up labour protests.
For example, the police in Argentina used water cannons and tear gas to harass workers protesting against the 'omnibus' bill pushed by Javier Milei, which included plans to give tax breaks to foreign companies and privatise dozens of state owned companies, among other treats for the capitalists.
But those police officers didn't come from the "La Libertad Avanza Police Academy," but joined even when Argentina was under leftist rule.
In capitalist countries, the police are better than in communist ones (not to mention a hypothetical anarchist case, because that's a stupid joke).
Reason? They're better paid, better funded, and the laws exist to maintain order. If they're sons of bitches, it's because of their nature, not because of the system.
In socialist countries there is obviously still the potential for harmful police violence, however the police is not fundamentally opposed to the proletariat because it upholds laws that enable the dictatorship of the proletariat, such as limiting people to owning 2 residencies to prevent landlordism like in Cuba. Therefore, in my view, all cops in capitalist countries are bastards because of the nature of their occupation, while only some cops in countries striving towards communism are bastards.
They blame the system a lot when there are problems that simply have nothing to do with politics, but with society. How many supposedly progressive countries weren't as homophobic, racist, and not to mention sexist as their capitalist counterparts?
Damn communist, you come with your idealistic garbage about the police serving bourgeois interests and when rallies turn violent (because they are so emotional) they are "legitimate" because they are "the struggles of the proletariat."
Too much romanticism in a shitty place based on the trashy consumerism you hate so much. Why don't you stop quoting that senile old man Chomsky, who unscrupulously points the finger at Washington but doesn't give a damn about freedom in North Korea, women's rights in Iran, or human rights in Venezuela.

Pure bait bullshit.
To quote Noam Chomsky: "As individuals they may be anything, but in their institutional role, they're monsters, because the institution is monstrous."
