Actually, I think with the context of what is given, Earth is the "Third House of Sol". And the "Forth House" equals Mars. The Martians call Earth the Third House, they only know it as Earth, because humans refer to that.
I imagine in time we might eventually start calling our celestial bodies by their properly given names of whichever notion they were given from. I personally like the idea of calling Earth "Terra" and our moon "Luna". If we ever get to different solar systems calling our home system the "Sol System" would be pretty sick.
Calling our home planet Earth might be shorthand for just that. Earth is your home planet, the ground you live on. All ground is a type of earth so why not your earth?
I'm going to add that some of the Martian's clothing looks similar to Martian Man Hunter from DC. The red cross on some of them, the round gem-like medals, not to mention the skin color but lighting could be messing with that
We likely never will colonize it. The surface is incredibly radioactive and you would get cancer just from staying five minutes on the surface. Dont believe anything that Elon Musk or other billionares say, our future lays elsewhere.
